Serge HELENON (born 1934) Abstract composition. Carborundum etching. Signed lower middle and no. 46/95. Framed. 75 x 56 cm Born in Martinique, he began his studies at the Ecole des Arts Appliqués in Fort de France, before moving on to Nice and then Paris. He then became a teacher in Bamako and traveled regularly to France. In Nice, he met gallery owner Paul Hervieu and became acquainted with artists Henri Goetz and James Cognard, who taught him the technique of carborundum engraving.
