Exhibition : Work exhibited in a Japanese garden during the "rendez-vous au jardin" in Seine et Marne.
Since 2022, Laurence Graffensttaden has been developing a totally innovative artistic concept. Her original idea is to create works of art using human cells. Once collected, they are colored, scanned and photographed under a microscope, then painted again. The result is both highly aesthetic and hyper-conceptual. The artist couple are delighted to reveal our inner beauty in this way, and to convey a message of tolerance: "all the same, all different". For the past year, they have been working on a succession of commissions, exhibitions and collaborations in France and abroad. Following the installation of permanent works at the Musée Mer Marine in Bordeaux, the Institut du Monde Arabe will also host a dedicated creation in May 2024. A collaboration with Saint Etienne artist Yeanzi is also scheduled for February 2024. Today marks their first auction with 4 highly poetic self-portraits.
