Porcelain oval basin with contoured rim, decorated with polychrome and gilded floral and ribboned medallions surrounding the initials SL. The background is decorated with a semis of barbs and roses. The rim adorned with a frieze garland motif and underlined by a gilded fillet. Manufacture VERNEUIL et VANNIER in Bordeaux, late 18th century. Gilded WW mark on bottom. (minor damage to gilding and enamel). 8.6 x 32.6 x 24.3 cm Provenance: descendants of General Changarnier (1793-1877).
