COIGNARD James (1925-2008) Abstract composition. Carborundum etching. Signed lower right and annotated lower left. Sight: 39.5 x 33 cm He studied at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Nice, France, and began by creating ceramics before devoting himself to painting. He spent his life between Paris and the Côte d'Azur. A close friend of the artist Henri Goetz, he was introduced to the carborundum engraving technique, which creates relief effects.
