COIGNARD James (1925-2008) Tea drinker. Carborundum engraving. N°15/50. Signed in pencil lower right. 45.5 x 32.5 cm He studied at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Nice, France, and began by creating ceramics before turning to painting. He spent his life between Paris and the Côte d'Azur. A close friend of the artist Henri Goetz, he was introduced to the carborundum engraving technique, which creates relief effects.
