FOUJITA Tsuguharu (1886-1968) - Lot 23
FOUJITA Tsuguharu (1886-1968) White Cat and Tiger Cat (1958) Black lithograph justified E/A and signed. (washed plate) 56 x 45 cm Reference: Buisson C58.113G. Japanese artist Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita is famous for his singular style, which blends Japanese aesthetics with Parisian modernity. Among his favorite subjects, cats occupy a central place, symbols of grace, gentleness and mystery. Painted with almost feline precision, their silky fur and expressive gazes convey the tenderness and sensitivity of the artist, who saw in them a mirror of his own refinement and his attachment to the fragile beauty of everyday life.
