ALMES Pierre (1880-1944) The Dance and Flower Picking. Pair of framed gouaches. Each signed lower right. (slight wear) Sight: 63.5 x 31 cm (frame: 68 x 35 cm) Note: A native of the Basque Country, Pierre Almès is best known for his ceramic decorations at the Ciboure factory (Vilotte period) and at the BACS workshop in Golfe-Juan. These two compositions echo his own productions, in which he is particularly fond of the motif of the young woman with veil in the style of Antiquity.
