ANTON François (1944-2022) - Lot 108
ANTON François (1944-2022) Man with dog. Oil on cardboard. Signed lower right. Sight 48 x 71 cm (frame: 73 x 95.5 cm) François Anton (b. 1944, Algiers) is a self-taught painter who has been working for several decades in a visual universe that is both playful and profound. His work features characters reminiscent of childhood - simple figures, streamlined silhouettes - immersed in everyday situations, often tinged with irony or tenderness. With a balanced palette and a mix of oil, pastel and collage, Anton creates a space where nostalgia for life's simple pleasures meets a broader reflection on identity and time.
