Titled on the back. 65 x 54 cm (frame: 90 x 79 cm) Georges Braem was a painter from Bordeaux, born in Caudéran to parents of Flemish origin, who trained at the Beaux Arts de Bordeaux before spending four years in a lithography workshop. His work, a departure from established trends, is characterized by glazes applied to copper and atmospheres both dreamlike and fantastical, blending surrealism, symbolism and gentleness. With a refined palette and mysterious compositions, Braem has opened up a personal visual universe where poetry, imagination and precise craftsmanship meet.
