SAVY Max (1918-2010) - Lot 135
SAVY Max (1918-2010) The little vineyard. Oil on canvas. Signed lower right and titled on the back. 54 x 65 cm Max Savy was born in Albi. Deeply attached to the Corbières region, he depicted it with passion in numerous canvases. A teacher by trade, he traded school for his easel and quickly became known as the "painter of the Corbières". His work, marked by inhabited rural landscapes, warm figurative scenes and the characteristic light of the South, testifies to a great mastery of composition and a sensitivity to place.
