Trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Jacques Innocenti moved to Vallauris in 1949, joining his family's "Grand Chêne" workshop. From 1952 onwards, he opened his own workshop, creating utilitarian and decorative pieces in which he plays with engobes, graphic decorations of female figures, still lifes and stylized bestiaries. His career, although short-lived due to his death at the age of 32, played an important role in the renaissance of post-war ceramic art in Vallauris.
