AGOSTINHO Fernando Manuel (b. 1959) In the car! Polychrome and gilded blown glass bottle sculpture. Signed and dated (20)07 with a stylus on a wheel. Length: 45 cm; height: 39 cm Note: Trained at the glassworks in Vianne (Lot et Garonne), then in Alain Guillot's workshop, Fernando Agostinho opened his own studio in Bruniquel (Tarn et Garonne) in 1987, and since 1993 has devoted himself to creating one-off pieces. His works combine humor, figurative elements (wide-eyed characters, crazy cars, imaginary animals) and various glassmaking techniques (blowing, flameworking, sandblasting), pushing back the boundaries between craft and contemporary art.
