Of Russian origin, Vladimir Naïditch was an integral part of the École de Paris. Trained in Moscow at the École des Arts Appliqués, he moved to Paris in the 1920s and attended the Grande Chaumière and Colarossi academies. He developed a varied body of work, including landscapes (Nos Dame de Bellecombe, Belle-Île, Andelys), nudes and still lifes, characterized by his mastery of color. A solid colorist, he exhibited regularly at the Salon d'Automne, the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon des Tuileries, and endured the hardships of exile during the Second World War before returning to Paris in 1946.
