ALONZO Dominique (act. 1910-1930) The water carrier. Bronze proof with brown patina. Signed on the terrace. (slight lack of patina). Height: 52 cm Dominique Alonzo, an emblematic sculptor of the Art Deco period, was a pupil of Alexandre Falguière. She exhibited at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français between 1912 and 1926. Her fine statues, often of women, dressed in long dresses or of exotic or medieval inspiration, are made in bronze and sometimes ivory, and are published notably by the Edmond Etling foundry in Paris. His work embodies the decorative elegance characteristic of Art Deco, combining technical precision and formal refinement.
