[MEMORIES AND ORDERS OF KNIGHTHOOD OF CARMINE DE MARTINO (1898-1963)] MONACO ORDER OF THE GRIMALDI Grand Cross set by Carmine de MARTINO (1898-1963) including: -The jewel in vermeil and enamel. With sash. -The silver and vermeil plaque. Reverse with two hooks and a toggle clasp. Boar's head and goldsmith's hallmark. A miniature ribbon and a grand-croix rosette are attached. With its patent on the letterhead of Rainier III, signed by the Grand Chancellor (dated 1959) and its notice from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs stating that this set was presented during Rainier and Grace's visit to Rome (1959). T.T.B. Biography : Carmine de MARTINO (1898-1963) Italian politician and businessman. He founded and managed the Société Industrielle et Agricole du Sud de l'Italie (SAIM). At the end of the 50s, he became Under-Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He was also president of the US Salernitana soccer club.
