CIPRIANI Ugo (1887-1960) - Lot 167
CIPRIANI Ugo (1887-1960) The effort. Proof in patinated terra cotta. Signed on the terrace and annotated "terre cuite d'art". (marks of use, including several small chips and accidents). 41.5 x 79 x 20 cm approx. Note: Originally from Livorno and active in Paris between the wars, Ugo Cipriani was one of the sculptors who accompanied the rise of Art Deco. A regular exhibitor at the Salon des Artistes Français, he developed a repertoire focused on the human figure, masterfully translating its power and movement. Compositions devoted to physical effort are among the emblematic themes of decorative sculpture from this period.
