Note: A great-grandson of Victor Hugo and a graduate of the École Boulle, Pierre Hugo occupies a singular place in contemporary French decorative arts. His goldsmith's work is distinguished by a formal vocabulary inspired by nature, where branches, bark and plant forms are transposed into precious metal with remarkable technical virtuosity. Produced in vermeil, this set testifies to the artist's constant desire to blur the boundary between utility object and sculpture.
