Based on an ancient model. Dancing Faun. Bronze cast, mounted on a base. In the style of the castings from the CHIURAZZI workshop. (Needs to be reattached to its base; shows signs of wear and minor imperfections, including a small restoration on one finger) Height: 80 cm Note: The Dancing Faun is among the most famous sculptures discovered in Pompeii. Found in the atrium of the famous House of the Faun during 19th-century excavations, this ancient bronze has become one of the emblems of Roman archaeology. Depicting a satyr captured in a particularly lively dance pose, it illustrates the enduring influence of Hellenistic art on Roman sculpture. The original is now housed at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples and remains one of the most widely reproduced masterpieces of antiquity.
