DAUM France - Lot 137
DAUM France
Blue-tinted glass vase with geometric decoration in the Art Deco style.
Comes with its box (worn).
Height: 27.5 cm
Note: Beginning in the 1920s, Daum fully embraced the evolution of the decorative arts toward the Art Deco aesthetic, gradually moving away from the naturalistic motifs of Art Nouveau in favor of clean lines and geometric compositions. Present at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925, the manufactory actively participated in the renewal of French glass alongside Lalique and Schneider. Vases in bold colors and with stylized decorations illustrate this pursuit of modernity that characterized production during the interwar period. Daum’s Art Deco creations remain today among the most iconic examples of 20th-century French design.
