ETLING Opalescent pressed-molded glass vase decorated with dancers draped in the classical style. Inscriptions “ETLING” and “155” in relief on the reverse. (important fèl) Height: 27.5 cm Note: Founded by Edmond Laurent Etling in the 1920s, the Etling company was one of the leading producers of decorative art during the Art Deco period. Its opalescent glass designs, often based on works by contemporary sculptors and decorators, enjoyed significant international success. The figures of dancers draped in the classical style reflect the era’s taste for a modernized classicism inspired by antiquity and the Ballets Russes. Etling vases remain today major references in French Art Deco glass.
