SAINT LOUIS - Tommy Model - Lot 158
SAINT LOUIS - Tommy Model Set of colored overlay crystal glasses, including: - thirteen wine glasses (one with a chip, in particular), height 19.8 cm - fourteen champagne flutes; height 19 cm, with slight variations in size - fifteen liqueur glasses (one notably with a chip); height 13.5 cm Mark on the bottom. (signs of use) Note: The colored versions of the Tommy model are among the most spectacular creations of the Saint-Louis crystal glassworks. Crafted using the “overlay” technique, they combine a layer of colored crystal with a layer of colorless crystal, which is then cut to reveal the design. This particularly demanding process highlights the richness of the Tommy cut and the play of light characteristic of prestigious French crystal. Today, the Tommy overlay sets are among the most sought-after variations of this iconic collection.
