Pokémon auction: cards and collectibles - a new generation of bidders
An sale dedicated to the Pokémon universe, bringing together collectible cards, legendary Wizards of the Coast sets, and rare sealed Japanese boxes — taking place on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
The Pokémon universe comes to Saint-Paul-de-Vence
A wave of nostalgia will sweep through Saint-Paul-de-Vence on Sunday, November 2, 2025, as we devote an entire sale to the world of Pokémon.
More than one hundred and ten lots will go under the hammer, tracing the story of a trading card game that has become a true global cultural phenomenon.
From the foundational Wizards of the Coast sets to the latest sealed Japanese collector boxes, this auction promises to be a passionate journey through three decades of creativity, illustration, and childhood memories.
The foundations of the myth: the Wizards era
At the heart of the sale lies a complete Wizards of the Coast Base Set, 2nd Edition (€1,000 – €1,500), a symbol of the Pokémon TCG’s golden age.
Displayed museum-style and protected under sleeves, this iconic ensemble is accompanied by a Mew Antique promo card, a nostalgic nod to the franchise’s early days.
Alongside it, a complete Japanese “Expansion Pack” set (€500 – €800) bridges the gap with the game’s original Japanese roots, while a Jungle 2nd Edition set (€800 – €1,000) completes this inaugural trilogy — essential to any serious Pokémon collection.
Meticulously preserved, these ensembles remind us how the first generation remains a touchstone in the ever-evolving world of Pokémon collecting.
Japanese elegance and modern vitality
More recent, yet equally coveted, the Japanese lots highlight the vibrancy of a market in constant motion.
A selection of 17 Japanese holographic cards (€100 – €1,200) includes multiple Pikachu Shiny Treasure and Pikachu Pokémon Go editions, alongside Dragonite, Gengar, and Morpeko — beloved figures that continue to captivate fans.
Two sealed Kanazawa Pokémon Center boxes (€400 – €600 each), released exclusively to mark the opening of the store in the city of Kanazawa, stand out for their pristine condition and scarcity, making them highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
Graded cards, sealed treasures, and childhood memories
Seasoned collectors will be delighted to find numerous PCA-graded cards from the Base Set, Jungle, and Fossil series — including Machamp, Gyarados, Ninetales, and Jolteon — iconic names from an era when each booster pack held a promise of adventure.
Modern enthusiasts will also appreciate a wide range of sealed products — 25th Anniversary Celebrations, Golden Box Pikachu, Sword & Shield – Crimson Haze, and Mystery Box Paradigm Trigger — testifying to the enduring, cross-generational passion surrounding Pokémon collecting.
More than a sale, this event embodies the meeting point between nostalgia and investment, where every card and every box tells a story of imagination, artistry, and enduring emotion.
