SATURDAY, JUNE 6 AUCTION • 20TH CENTURY ART
American artist Dorothy Iannone, whose works remain exceptionally rare at auction in France, will notably be represented with Stool, a remarkable 1975 polychrome wooden stool adorned with colourful feathers and a leather cushion. A work fully emblematic of the artist’s free, narrative and vibrant universe, it is expected to realise between €8,000 and €12,000.
Collectors of design and decorative arts will also discover François-Xavier Lalanne’s celebrated poetic world through a Pigeon table lamp crafted in copper, bronze and opaline glass, estimated at €30,000/40,000.
A rare engraved grey pitcher by Pablo Picasso, produced by the Madoura workshop in a limited edition of only 500 copies, will further enrich the sale. This ceramic work is announced at €7,000/9,000.
Several works by Mexican painter Rafael Cauduro, an important figure of contemporary Latin American art, will also be featured, including Regardera rococo, a mixed-media and assemblage composition created in 1985 and estimated at €6,000/8,000.
The journey will finally lead to Indonesia with Anak Agung Gde Anom Sukawati and his Procession au temple balinais from 1990, a vibrant ceremonial scene inspired by the artistic tradition of Ubud, estimated at €5,000/7,000.
