We would like to thank Mr. Cyril KLEIN-MONTEZIN for kindly confirming the authenticity of this work and for the information he provided on the place probably represented by his great-grandfather.
Pierre-Eugène Montézin was a painter known for his luminous, colorful landscapes. Influenced by the Impressionists, he captured the beauty of nature, gardens, rivers and rural scenes with finesse. He began his career as a decorator before devoting himself entirely to his painting. Montézin exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he won several awards. His style, both sensitive and spontaneous, is distinguished by a vibrant touch and a mastery of light. Highly appreciated during his lifetime, he left a gentle, coherent body of work. To this day, his paintings can be found in numerous public and private collections.
