It features a widened front hood, redesigned intake grille, and improved use of interior space, while retaining the characteristic harmonious lines and rear overhang. Powered by an air-cooled flat-four engine producing 75 hp, this version offers an excellent balance of agility, reliability, and everyday usability. Series B upgrades — including improved brakes, optimized chassis, and revised gearbox — enhance driving precision and safety, reflecting the model’s quality evolution in the early 1960s. Notably, this variant was produced by the Karmann coachbuilder, chosen by Porsche to meet increasing demand. Karmann coupes are renowned for their body rigidity and assembly quality, giving them a distinctive identity and rarity within the 356 lineup. The interior remains functionally minimalist, with clear instrumentation and an improved driving position. This T6 represents one of the last major evolutions before the arrival of the 356 C and the 911, and remains highly sought after for its timeless elegance, precise construction, and pivotal role in Porsche history.
